A fabulous set of six midcentury 'Hamilton' model dining chairs designed in the late 1950s by the renowned British designer Robert Heritage & manufactured by Archie Shine Ltd.
Robert Heritage was a prolific figure in mid-20th-century British furniture, eventually becoming a Royal Designer for Industry & a professor at the Royal College of Art. The dining chairs are high-quality rosewood with elegant tapered legs. The seat & backs are upholstered in a terracotta fabric with a slight sheen & woven stripe. During the 1960s, these pieces were often retailed through high-end furniture stores like Heal's in London. The dining chairs are in good vintage condition.
